I’m from Mexico and I love everything about Mexican heritage. I came to the States when I was about 2 years old. My mom was very pushy in terms of academics, she never accepted any grade reports with anything on there other than an “A.” I was always pushed to do the best I can in anything and everything I did or attempted. My mom was very supportive and helped with everything especially when it came to sports. I went elementary, middle and high school here in Sacramento. I’m use to all the diversity that Sacramento offers and I couldn’t imagine being somewhere without so much diversity.
I’m a huge car fanatic. Ever since I was little I remember having the toys I always wanted but they were mostly just cars and it’s something that I have not grown out of. Some say that as an only child I was spoiled but personally, although I have a clear bias, I don’t see it that way. I believe that I earned toy, book, or object my mom gave. I also just knew how to take care of things and not destroy them. If I were to destroy anything it was purposeful as I quickly got into the idea of taking things apart and putting them back together and finding the inner workings on how things work and why they work. I believe that is why I am where I am now.
I enjoy taking my car apart and finding out what pieces to take off or change to make it go faster and quicker. Yea, some people say what’s the difference between faster and quicker but there is a huge difference which I’ll leave you to mill over. That now also leads me to people. I like to know how and why things work and that also ends up including people. This is why I would like to major or minor in psychology. I want to know how people function or why they do what they do it intrigues me, or even why someone can act one way one hour and another way another hour. People are the most complicated yet also most simple things on the planet I think that’s the beauty in everyone. For example my girlfriend is sometimes a bit complicated but also simple in the fact that if she’s mad or irritated I can get her food and she’ll be perfectly happy.
To simply everything in my life: My name is Maximiliano Castro, I am a college student navigating through the convolutedness that which is life as an adult.
